Classically, to prepare Falafel chickpeas have to be soaked in water overnight and then put through a grinder with parsley, onions and garlic the next morning. Then everything is mixed with spices before the Falafel are shaped and fried.

To facilitate this laborious procedure, we went one step further and, over years of hard work, we have developed Mama’s Falafel recipe in such a way that everyone can prepare and enjoy Falafel with minimal effort in no time. Simply mix our MOIMA Falafel-Mix with water, let it soak for 45 minutes, fry for 3 – 4 minutes and you’re done. No soaking, no pealing, no grinding, super fast and simple. Our MOIMA Falafel are super delicious, real, and compete with the best Falafel in Arabia. Ideal for home, parties, camping and even catering.

Description

Preparation

  1. To make 15 – 18 Falafels, stir 375 ml (or 375 g) of water in a bowl, while slowly adding the whole MOIMA Falafel-Mix until completely mixed. For one Falafel, mix 22.5 ml (or 22.5 g) of water with 15 g MOIMA Falafel-Mix.
  2. Let the mixture stand for 45 min at room temperature and stir once every 10 – 15 min to fully mix the water with the mixture. The mixture is now ready to fry and can be stored for max. 3 days in the fridge or immediately deep-fried to Falafels.
  3. Heat plenty of refined sunflower oil to 180°C (mid-level heat). Then shape Falafels using a Falafel scooper, ice cream scooper or your hands and gently place the Falafel ball into the oil. Note: the Falafels should float and must not touch the bottom of the pot. Also, if you deep-fry more than 5 Falafels at once, increase the heat to 190°C, otherwise the oil cools down too much.
  4. Deep-fry Falafels 3 – 4 min until crispy brown. DO NOT deep-fry golden-brown, otherwise the Falafel remains raw inside. To cook the Falafels thoroughly, turn the Falafels once. DO NOT stir the oil or tap the Falafel while deep-frying, the Falafel could fall apart. After 3 – 4 min remove the hot Falafels from the pot, let them cool slightly and enjoy warm.

Chickpea grouts, onions, parsley, garlic, sea salt, spice mixture, coriander, carbonate, baking powder (acidifying agent: diphosphate, raising agent: sodium carbonate, cornstarch).

Contains gluten and may contain mustard.
